Explosions In The Sky is an instrumental group founded in Austin, Texas, consisting of drummer Chris Hrasky, and a trio of guitarists: Munaf Rayani, Mark Smith, and Michael James (who splits time between guitar and bass). Often described as post-rock, their music uses typical rock band instrumentation to explore a slightly different musical terrain and texture from what is normally found on rock radio. At times their music can have an almost orchestral quality to it and at others it's a distortion-laden triple-guitar attack.

Last night I made my way out to the El Rey Theatre here in LA, CA to see Death Cab for Cutie live in concert. My ex-bf Erik is a huge emo/hipster and it was his influence that got me into Death Cab/Postal Service/etc. We never got to see the band in concert when we were together so last night was my first DCFC show. I am happy to report that the show was really fantastic.

The show was a solid 2 hours long and the setlist was packed with classic songs paired with new offerings from their new album Codes and Keys. As I understand it, this leg of the Death Cab tour is strictly for fans … tickets were sold via Will Call only so that scalpers could not get their hands on the tix. I really enjoyed the show from start to finish. The band played all of my fave songs and made the new songs sound fresh and exciting. If you get the chance, I highly recommend you see DCFC on this tour. Trust me, they put on a great show.

Tonight, David and I will be attending the Hollywood premiere of Super 8. We are both very excited and are very much looking forward to seeing the film in full. Wee!

Last night Warner Bros. released a short preview clip from the upcoming sequel film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 that featured the final showdown between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort. Altho the clip is actually very short (too short for my liking), it is deffo worth seeing because it features new footage from the final Harry Potter film. Check out the clip below.

Despite the fact that this clip shows a very pivotal scene from the final Harry Potter film, due out in theaters in July, I am really bummed that the clip is so short … and dark … short and dark. That being said, I guess I really don’t want to see too much from the film … not just yet. The end is coming … faster than we would like … I suppose short clips like this only feed our desire to see more. What do y’all think of this new Harry Potter clip? He's been there a day! He spent more time flying to get to Florence! How could there already be drama?!?!

The photogs followed Snooki today as she and her boyfriend, Jionni, appeared to have a bit of an argument. Apparently, something went down with Snooks' man at the club the night before that upset our pint-sized guidette princess. She called him out on it (as the cameras were rolling, btw) and the two got into a fight.

But, by this afternoon, everything was squared away and the couple looked like they had gotten back together. They even kissed as they made up.

Alls well that ends well. At least, until the crew comes back tomorrow.

Last night David and I got to hang out with our friend Emma and all we basically did was eat and talk and eat and talk … and watch TV. Then we snacked. Yeah, it was a pretty rad night. Because Emma is heading off on an Australian adventure a couple of weeks, we wanted to get in as much hang out time with her while we still can. All in all, not a bad way to spend a Wednesday night.

We made our way to Hugo’s for dinner and got talked into trying their Avocado ice cream with Chipotle sauce dessert. Let me tell you … it was grody to the max. The avocado ice cream wasn’t bad but the Chipotle sauce? Ew! It was like eating ice cream with BBQ sauce. Trust me, don’t try it :( Except for the dessert misfire, the rest of our night was really fun.

But tonight, oh man, tonight is going to be awesome. I’m going to see the 80′s hair/metal band Cinderella at the House of Blues:

Now, I was never a big metal head but I do remember and appreciate the awesome hairband videos of the late 80′s and early 90′s … when I was too young to attend these kinds of concerts. I’ve always wanted to go to a show like this so … I guess tonight is my chance. My friend Jen is going to the show as well so, yeah, it should be fun. I’ll be sure to share some photos from the bitchin’ Cinderella show tomorrow.

Perez Hilton: What's it been like being a dad?

Nick Cannon: Man, it's hard to leave the house honestly. I mean, as much as I love what I do and the hustle when I get home and I get home and I see those two little faces looking up at me that look like my face, it's like, it's unbelievable. It kind of gives you a whole new inspiration and whole new reason to kind of get out there and do it everyday.

Perez Hilton: What surprised you the most about the twins or having children?

Nick Cannon: The fact that they have personalities.

Perez Hilton: And they’re like four months old, three months, two months old?

Nick Cannon: One month.

Perez Hilton: One month wow. They already have personalities?

Nick Cannon: Yeah, personalities. And it's crazy because you can see like my son is definitely more like me. He's like chill, laid back –

Perez Hilton: At one month?

Nick Cannon: Yeah. And but my daughter is, that's her mothers child. Like she is like a diva. She sleeps like this with her hands. She's like, when she wants something, she's instantly crying letting you know likes she's going to be a little handful.

Perez Hilton: And have there been talks? Do you want to have even more?

Nick Cannon: Yeah, man, going on four years.

Perez Hilton: 2007, like April 2007 I remember when you started dating. Was it the kind of thing you’re just like immersed in each other like were you just –

Perez Hilton: You saw each other every single day?

Nick Cannon: Well not — we didn’t see each other because you know I was in LA and she was in New York most of the time. But it was one of those things where we were inseparable to a point where when I'm — I always knew I was going to be in love with Mariah Carey.

Nick Cannon: She was my celebrity crush since I was a kid.

Perez Hilton: Really?

Nick Cannon: So I was like when I get the opportunity, I'm going to just let her know how I feel and just go hard, just — and I went hard and then from that point she connected and we –

Nick Cannon: Yeah. And it was just –

Perez Hilton: It was just like the right time.

Nick Cannon: When we weren’t there we were on the phone all the time. It was just like, it was real so –

Perez Hilton: You had long phone calls like old school?

Nick Cannon: Six hours on the phone. Like who do you talk to for six hours? What do you talk about for six hours? That's like — it was like that junior high love.

Perez Hilton: What do you think is the secret to proving to people, like we're still together four years later, we're making it work?

Tragedy Hits Oslo, Norway

This is so horrible and so sad.
A bomb went off in Oslo, Norway today, ripping through buildings including the Prime Minister's office.
Horribly, that's not the only incident. Just outside the city, a man dressed as a police officer opened fire at youngsters at a youth camp connected to the ruling party.

We're very sad to report that Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez, is negotiating with NBC, ABC, and CBS to determine who will pay the most for the female OJ's first exclusive interview!

According to sources, there is a "big price tag for the interview," they are also offering to license photos and other material, and so far, it seems like ABC and NBC are the frontrunners, with the latter taking the lead.

As much as we're aware how high-profile this case was, we're pretty disgusted to think that this woman is managing to make a profit off of her child's murder, and worse yet, that these networks are willing to pay her to do so.

We'd personally prefer that she just disappear and leave the public eye forever, but we doubt that's going to happen for a very long time.

So sad.

We kinda wonder what it's like not to have such a hateful and homophobic person be allowed to spread himself in your country.

While we're all for free speech, we can't help but like the idea of what the UK has imposed upon American shock-jock Michael Savage (real name Michael Weiner was changed — because doesn't Savage sound much more badass?). Not only that, but it looks like the UK has no intention of lifting the ban, either.

Here's the latest info:

In the latest communiqué from the British government, Michael Atkins, writing on behalf of the U.K.'s treasury solicitor, told Savage's London-based attorney, "Your client has not provided any evidence to show that he did not commit the unacceptable behaviour" that prompted the "decision to exclude him, nor has your client provided any acceptable evidence to show his repudiation of those unacceptable behaviours."

Atkins said Savage can do nothing at the moment to affect his status and must wait until December, when the decision is scheduled for review.

Savage has the 3rd most listened to radio show in the States. Either people really dig what he's saying, or most people just want to hear what he's going to say next as a form of entertainment. We hope it's the latter.

We'll see what happens come December!

Oh no! The Broadway curse has weaseled its way onto the set of the new Spider-Man movie!

Thankfully, no one was hurt!

Three production grips found themselves trapped mid-air yesterday for three hours while working on the new movie, The Amazing Spider-Man, in Manhattan. The grips were attempting to build a platform six stories high that would support a camera set up on the roof of a building in Chinatown when a malfunction occurred on the crane they were on.

It took the FDNY three hours to finally rescue the three men as the computers for the crane, as one of the grips explained later, "went blank…like someone turned off the dark switch."

Thankfully, firefighters were finally able to get use of a cherrypicker - a crane on a truck with a basket at the end - and got the men down safely. With no one hurt and with every precaution taken to ensure the men were safe from further danger, we think the movie's fairing much better than the Broadway show has.

Let's just hope this isn't a bad omen for worse things to come!

Changes they are a coming to two of the last four daytime soap operas on air. It has been one heck of a week for Days Of Our Lives and General Hospital consisting of some serious hirings and firings. Both Days and GH ditched their current head writers in favor of some not so well known writers. DOOL has hired two writers from Passions while GH promoted someone from within. Although I don’t disagree with the decisions to get rid of Dena Higley and Bob Guza I do have to wonder though with so many really good head writers out of work why not pick one of them, just a thought. The couple have been together for the better part of 5 years (except for that 6 month break they took apart a few years ago) and it was widely believed that Leo and Bar would end up saying I Do eventually. Apparently a marriage was not meant to be because clearly the couple couldn’t make a serious go of it. Leo and Bar are dunzo, y’all!

It’s the end of the road, once again, for Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Refaelii. The Hollywood superstar, 36, and the Israeli supermodel, 25, who had been together for five years – minus a six-month break halfway through – have called it quits, a source confirms to PEOPLE. The pair began dating in the spring of 2006, and tried to keep their romance low profile despite their stardom. They split in 2009, but were back together the following year. Refaeli later said she was grateful for that six-month break – that she “grew up” during that time apart and learned not to fear being alone.

HMMM … even tho many people thought these two would get married, I was never convinced. Leonardo DiCaprio does not strike me as the kind of guy who is likely to take a wife. He does not seem like husband material to me. If I had to make a wild assumption and guess what caused the split, I’d have to say that Bar prolly wanted to get married and Leo did not. Perhaps Bar wanted to start a family and Leo did not. Of course, I have no way of knowing for sure … but I can see Leonardo DiCaprio as a lifelong bachelor. It’s a shame that the couple couldn’t make their relationship work but, in the end, it’s prolly for the best that the couple split up now.

The street directly in front of Oprah‘s Harpo Studios in Chicago has been renamed as Oprah Winfrey Way in honor of her 25 successful years in the Windy City. Oprah happily appeared at the ceremony yesterday where her street name was unveiled, check out some photos and some deets about this honor below.

On Wednesday, outgoing Chicago Mayor Richard Daley gave another departing Chicago institution, Oprah Winfrey, a civic version of a parting gift: Her own street. Daley, who will leave office next week after more than 22 years, honored Winfrey by naming a block in front of Harpo Studios “Oprah Winfrey Way.” Winfrey is ending her own two-decade-plus run as host of her Chicago-based television show. “Your presence in Chicago has been a gift …” Daley said, moments before the cover was pulled off the sign that stands in front of the studio’s main entrance, calling Winfrey “a great ambassador for our city.” Winfrey was equally effusive about Daley and her adopted hometown. “I just want to say thank you to the mayor and also to the city of Chicago for embracing me and allowing me to take a stand and make a stand here in this city,” said Winfrey. Winfrey is the latest of well over 1,200 celebrities, religious leaders, activists and others who have been honored with street signs in Chicago. I mean … Oprah has countless awards, massive amounts of money, her OWN television network … why not add a street to her collection of accomplishments. I can’t say that I’m at all surprised that Oprah got her own street name … in fact, I wouldn’t even be surprised if the entire city of Chicago were renamed after her. There is no doubt, Oprah Winfrey has enjoyed HUGE success in Chicago and she has shared much of her success with the city that has been so good to her. After 25 years in the biz there, it totally makes sense that Chicago, IL is now home to Oprah Winfrey Way.
