Last night David and I made our way to downtown LA to see Cyndi Lauper live in concert and we were SO excited … until we got to the venue and realized that Cyndi is touring in support of her blues album. Now, I gotta admit … I am not a blues music fan — at all — but for Cyndi, we decided to just go with the flow and have as good a time as we could. Thankfully, Cyndi keeps ALL of her fans in mind when she performs in concert so we were very happy to hear many of our fave Cyndi songs performed live.

Unfortch, Cyndi‘s blonde hair reflective of the house lights so in the photos, it looks like she was glowing ;) While Cyndi did perform blues songs from her new album, she intersperced her big hits in between songs … so every other song was one of her classic hits. Here is the full setlist from last night’s show:

I was not expecting to here The Goonies R Good Enough song so that was a nice surprise. The encore of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Time After Time and True Colors was worth the price of admission alone. We had a blast, Cyndi was fabulous.

Last night was a very quiet night for me … I ended up passing out and falling asleep much earlier than I’d like to divulge here … but tonight promises to be much more exciting. My friend Jen and I are going to the Music Box in Hollywood, CA to see M83 LIVE in concert! M83 recently released a new album titled Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming and it has quickly become one of my fave albums of the year. I am VERY excited to hear tracks from the disc performed live tonight.

It’s rare that I love every single song off an album but M83‘s Dreaming is deffo one of those albums. I’m a new fan of the band but I hoping that tonight’s concert will cement my love for them. Unfortunately, I have tix to see The Bangles live in concert at the House of Blues tonight as well but, obvs, I cannot attend both shows at the same time :( I love The Bangles very much but I’ve seen them before … tonight, I’m spending my time with M83.

We are spending the rest of the week with Lara, Eden and Aram first to celebrate Lara’s birthday and then to support Lara and Eden in the Nike Women’s Marathon on Sunday. We will also be seeing Ryan Adams again on Friday night so we’ve got a bizzy few days ahead. It should be fun :)

Altho, because of the time difference, it took all day for me to get from LA to NYC I have to say that my day was pretty much perfect. Not only did my flight leave on time but I managed to sleep enough and get lost in a book enough that the 5+ hour flying time seemed to go by quicker than usual. My placement on the plane meant that I got off the plane very quickly and then I happily found no line at all at the taxi queue. The ride from the airport to David’s sister’s apartment also flew by because there was no traffic — at all. I dare say it was the most perfect travel day I’ve ever experienced.

The only downside, I’d say, is the weather. It wasn’t too bad last night but the temps have fallen considerably today … and the forecast is for rain … to turn into SNOW flurries by Saturday. OY! I’ll be holed up inside all day long, only venturing out tonight to see Sleep No More … the same goes for tomorrow. Hopefully the snow will hold off on Sat until I can sneak out and fly back to LA (where, I understand, the temps will be in the 80s). It is great to be back in NYC but I really won’t get to do much. I have a very short and very specific schedule. Still … it is good to be back.

Her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito was also cleared of the murder charges. Amanda retains the defamation charge for when she tried accuse club owner Patrick Lumumba of killing her roommate, Meredith Kercher.

As you can see from the video (above), Amanda cried with jubilation as she was whisked away back to prison to collect her things and finally return to her family and friends back home.

Yesterday afternoon, David and I winged our way up to San Francisco, CA to spend the weekend hanging out with his brother Aram. David’s been to SF a few times since my last visit but I haven’t been here for about 2 years now so … I’m excited to be back in the city. The temps in LA have been in the high 80s/low 90s for the past week … but it is much cooler here in SF. As much as I don’t love cold weather, let me tell you, it’s a nice change of pace.

David and I met up with Aram and his girlfriend Jodee for a sushi dinner and we had a great time hanging out. Jodee is a doll … and David and I are the first of the family to meet her. We loved her entirely and think she is a perfect match for Aram. Because A had an early day at work today, we didn’t hang out for too long last night. David and I walked around for a bit but made it an early night as well. This evening, we will be meeting up with David’s BFF Diana and then … who knows.
